ഒരു ഇടയന്‍ തന്‍റെ ഗോക്കളെ എല്ലായ്പോഴും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ സാധകന്‍ തന്‍റെ നിത്യ ശുദ്ധ ബോധത്തില്‍ സ്വയം പ്രതിഷ്ടിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് തന്‍റെ സാത്വിക ചിത്ത വൃത്തികളെ സാക്ഷി ഭാവത്തില്‍ നിരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതാണ് ധ്യാനം.

Aakhyaahi me - tell that to me
Disciple - Chakshuh - eyes
Guru - Tasya nimeelanaadi samaya kim - when you close your eyes, what is the light?
Disciple - Dheeh - intellect
Guru - Dheeyo darshana kim - what is the light for you to see (perceive) the intellect?
Disciple - Tatra aham - for that It is ME the pure Consciousness
Guru - Athah bhavaan paramakam jyothi - thus you are the ultimate light (self- luminous Self) Disciple then asserts from his experience and says

നിനക്ക് എന്താണു് വെളിച്ചം?
എനിക്ക് പകൽ സൂര്യനാണു വെളിച്ചം. രാത്രിയിൽ ദീപം തുടങ്ങിയവ.
അതിരിക്കട്ടെ. സൂര്യനെയും ദീപത്തെയും കാണുന്ന കാര്യത്തിൽ വെളിച്ചമെന്താണു്? പറയൂ.
അതിനു കണ്ണാണു വെളിച്ചം.
അതടച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞാൽ പിന്നെയെന്താണു വെളിച്ചം?
ബുദ്ധി.
ബുദ്ധിയെ കാണുന്ന കാര്യത്തിൽ എന്താണു വെളിച്ചം?
അക്കാര്യത്തിൽ ഞാൻ തന്നെയാണു വെളിച്ചം.
അതുകൊണ്ട് നീയാണു വെളിച്ചങ്ങളുടെയൊക്കെ അങ്ങേയറ്റത്തെ വെളിച്ചം.
പ്രഭോ, അതങ്ങനെ തന്നെ.
ശരീരം, മനസ്സ് ബുദ്ധി എന്നിങ്ങനെ ആത്മാവല്ലാത്ത വസ്തുവിനെ താന്‍ എന്ന് കരുതുന്നത് മാറ്റിയാല്‍ സ്വതവേ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്ന ആത്മ വസ്തു ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍ തെളിയും.
In But Not In
It is said that after Muhammad (p) and the prophets
revelation does not descend upon anyone else.
Why not? In fact it does, but then it is not called 'revelation.'
It is what the Prophet referred to when he said, 'The believer sees with the Light of Allah.'
When the believer looks with Allah's Light,
he sees all things: the first and the last, the present and the absent.
For how can anything be hidden from Allah's Light?
And if something is hidden, then it is not the Light of Allah.
Therefore the meaning of revelation exists, even if it is not called revelation.
